Stibbear Farm

Residential

Working with the existing fabric at Stibbear Farm, LSL Architecture Ltd has brought new life back into this Former Council Farmstead.

The farm went to auction following an asset sale by the Council, we were approached by the successful buyer and achieved planning consent for 7 dwellings through the conversion of the barns on site, with gardens and parking spaces set around a courtyard arrangement.

With careful renovations, traditional techniques and the addition of new buildings that were inspired by the existing structures' footprints and styles, the character of the site was retained. We worked closely with the planning officer to achieve this scheme. The material palette and openings reflect the existing elements retaining the agricultural aesthetic, with carefully considered contemporary additions through larger glazed openings to suit residential use and ensure that all properties have a connection with their living spaces and their gardens

This approach to the design ensured the farm had a new purpose to be enjoyed for many more years.
