Manor Farm Barns
Formally a small farmstead within a West Somerset hamlet, LSL Architecture Ltd worked closely with our clients to convert these buildings into a main residence with ancillary accommodation.
The buildings sit around an informal courtyard, leading to the larger gardens and enjoy views towards West Somerset Railway all within a picturesque setting.
Through the combination of existing structures and new additions, the buildings have been turned into a home full of character and charm. The existing barns have been repaired with traditional materials and methods with complementary door and window styles that match the farmstead appearance. Newer extensions and buildings continue the stonework, visually bringing together all the buildings but complementing with timber cladding and large openings to provide views into the courtyard.
Internally the building structure has been exposed with timber beams made to become features that complement the client's interior design and result in a characterful home.
